How do you normally hide the icons on your desktop?
Right clicking the Desktop, visiting View from the flyout menu and unchecking Show Desktop Icons worksbut there’s a faster way.
Watch this..
Get HideDesktopIcons
Download HideDesktopIcons and extract the executable. Then make a new folder in Program Files (x86)called HideDesktopIcons and drag HideDesktopIcons.exe into it.
In the graphic below I’m dragging HideDesktopIcons.exe from HideDesktopIcons.zip into C:\Program Files (x86)\HideDesktopIcons.

Pin the file
Right click the file and choose Pin to Start Menu
Set the Shortcut Key
Now right click the pinned Start Menu shortcut icon, click Properties from the fly out menu and go to theShortcut tab.In the Shortcut key box, put in your key sequence. I’m going to use Ctrl + Alt + h since the “h” helps me remember that it hides icons.Click OK.
Now every time you press your custom key sequence your icons will instantly vanish.
If it doesn’t work, you may need to download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package first.
